The Story of
Biligiri Farms
Biligiri Farms was started 30 years ago by the vision of Ravi Babu Kanneganti, who wanted to continue his family’s rich heritage in farming. We strongly believe in sustainable and natural practices through the use of minimal water, pesticides, and fertilizers. We support local villages by employing over 200 staff from local communities.
Biligiri Farms is situated at the foothills of Biligiri Rangaswamy (BR) Forests, a wildlife sanctuary located in Karnataka. This forest derives its name from the white cliff that the ancient Lord Ranganathaswamy temple is located on (Biligiri means ‘white hill’ in Kannada). It is home to some of the largest populations of tigers and elephants in India.
The unique flavour of our honey comes from the crops grown on the farm (a selection of guava, banana, pomegranate, sweet lime, coconut, til, and others) and the wide range of flora in BR Hills, which is home to nearly 800 species of plants.
